Green Beans with Almonds

2 lb. green beans
1/4 lb. (4 slices) bacon, diced
1/2 c. chopped onion
1 Tbsp. margarine
1/2 c. slivered blanched almonds

Snip beans; place in medium saucepan and add water. Cook until beans are crisp-tender. Meanwhile fry bacon and onion until bacon is browned and onion is very tender. Drain off excess fat, set aside. In a small skillet melt the margarine and stir in almonds. Cook over medium fire until the almonds are a light, golden brown, being careful not to burn them. Combine the drained beans, bacon and onions together. Sprinkle the almonds over the beans and toss gently and serve immediately.
