Texas Meat Skillet

Texas Meat Skillet

2 cups ground beef
1/2 cup water
1 can (about 14.5 ounces) crushed tomatoes
1 can (about 15.5 ounces) dark red kidney beans, undrained
1 cup long-grain rice, cooked
1/2 cup bell peppers, chopped
2 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup Cheddar cheese, grated
1 cup tortilla chips, crushed

In a skillet, combine ground beef and water. Cover and cook over low heat for 15 minutes. Break up meat with a fork.

Stir in crushed tomatoes, kidney beans, rice, bell peppers, chili powder, and salt. Bring mixture to boil; reduce heat. Cover and simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Sprinkle cheese and tortilla chips over meat mixture before serving.
