Here is a great chowder for these cooler days of
January.
Tomato Corn Chowder
4 slices
bacon, diced (I always use more) 1/2 cup onion,
chopped fine 4 cups raw potatoes, cubed 2 cups
water Salt and pepper, to taste 2 cups canned
whole kernel corn, drained 4 cups tomato juice 1
cup milk 1/4 cup flour
Saute' bacon with
onion; add potatoes, water, salt and pepper and simmer
until potatoes are tender, about 10 minutes. Add corn,
tomato juice and flour dissolved in milk (beat the flour
and milk together with a whisk to blend thoroughly).
