asked for a good chocolate cake recipe.
This is one I used to make to give as
gifts at Christmas. The soaking syrup
really makes it moist and the Glaze
makes you want to go back for more. .
Kahula Fudge Cake Recipe
¼ cup milk
1 box fudge cake
mix **(18.25 oz)
1 cup water
large eggs, room temp
½ cup sour
cream, room temp
2 Tbs. butter
tbs. vegetable oil.
1/2 cup water
1-1/2 Tbs. sugar
cup (or less) Kahlua
1-1/3 cups chocolate chips
3 Tbs. light corn
1 Tbs. Kahlua
½ tsp. vanilla
Preheat oven 350.
Prepare 12” Bundt pan. Melt chocolate
chips and milk in microwave and beat
until smooth. In a large bowl combine
rest of ingredients and then add
chocolate mixture. Beat about 2 minutes
until thick and smooth. Pour into pan
and bake 40-50 mins until toothpick has
a few moist crumbs on it.
in pan 15 min then invert on wire rack
and cool completely.
soaking syrup by boiling sugar and water
until dissolved, then add Kahlua.
Return cake to pan and pierce bottom
of cake with toothpick. Pour ½ of
soaking syrup on cake and let stand for
5 mins to soak up syrup. Invert cake and
put on rest of soaking syrup with pastry
Melt chocolate chips, corn
syrup and milk. Beat until smooth. Add
vanilla and kahlua. Pour warm glaze over
cake. Chill 5-10 mins to set glaze.
Refrigerate in an airtight container..
Remove 1 hour before serving.
I used Duncan Hines cake mix.
