Caramel Sheet Cake
2 cups flour
1/2 cup buttermilk
2 cups sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup oil
1 cup water
Mix together the flour, sugar, cinnamon, baking soda & salt. In saucepan, bring
butter, oil, & water to a boil. Pour over dry ingredients & mix well.
Add buttermilk, eggs, & vanilla. Beat well. Pour into a greased & floured
11"x5"x2" sheet cake pan. Bake 400 degrees for 15-17 minutes.
1/2 c. butter
2 c. powdered sugar
1 c. brown sugar
1 t. vanilla
1/4 c. buttermilk
Melt butter & add brown sugar. Bring to a boil. Add buttermilk & return to a
boil. Remove from burner. Add powdered sugar & vanilla & beat. Spread over warm
Powdered buttermilk does not have to be mixed
separately. I just add the powder with my flour and the water with the my other
liquids and let it mix in the batter.
