1 cup (2 sticks) butter
1 cup sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla
5 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
Cream butter and sugar. Add beaten eggs, vanilla and buttermilk. Add dry
ingredients to wet ingredients. Chill. Roll out and cut. Frost and decorate with
your favorite frosting. These are similar to a recipe on Abby?s Kitchen, however
I have always used buttermilk.

Powdered buttermilk does not have to be mixed
separately. I just add the powder with my flour and the water with the my other
liquids and let it mix in the batter.
