Barbecue Marinade

1 cup vegetable oil
2 ounces bourbon, optional
1/2 cup cider vinegar
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon brown sugar
2 teaspoon dry mustard
1 teaspoon Tabasco sauce or favorite hot red pepper sauce
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1 teaspoon onion powder
2 tablespoons ketchup
1 teaspoon favorite powdered chiles

In a medium bowl, mix together all the marinade ingredients. Pour over meat and marinate for 2 hours or overnight. This can be used on fish, but marinate only 30 minutes to 1 hour. Makes about 2 cups.
