Banana Bread

1 3/4 cups flour
2 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
1/3 cup shortening
2/3 cup sugar
3/4 teaspoon grated lemon rind
1 to 2 beaten eggs
1 cup ripe bananas
1/2 cup broken nuts
1/4 cup finely chopped apricots

Blend first 5 ingredients till creamy. Add the eggs and ripe bananas and blend well till smooth. Fold in nuts and apricots and beat till smooth. Put batter in well-greased bread pan and bake for 1 hour or till done at 350 degrees.
