Chocolate Raisin Pie

1/3 c. Hershey's semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 1/2 c. seedless raisins
1 c. light cream
1/4 c. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
3/4 c. granulated sugar
3 tbsp. cornstarch
1/8 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. cinnamon
2 eggs
9-inch unbaked pie shell

Place chocolate pieces, raisins, cream and butter in a heavy saucepan. Stir over low fire until chocolate pieces and butter are melted. Remove from fire and stir in vanilla. Mix together sugar, cornstarch, salt and cinnamon. Stir into chocolate-raisin mixture. Beat eggs well with rotary beater until foamy and stir in. Pour into unbaked pie shell, spreading raisins evenly over bottom. Bake in moderate oven (375 degrees) for 40 to 45 minutes or until set. Cool. Top with whipped cream, if desired.
