Country Barbecue Sauce
2 tbsp. salad oil
1 med. onion, diced or minced
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
1/4 c. white vinegar
1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
4 tsp. chili powder
2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. dry mustard
In medium saucepan, over medium heat, in hot salad oil, cook onion until
tender, about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add remaining ingredients.
Heat to boiling, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Use to baste ribs,
chicken, lamb, etc.
